History:

Adelaide was the former martial arts champion in her village. She has already defeated all the men and women that the village had to offer.
One day she was sitting awkwardly, with her back against her chair staring blankly past her window. She yawned bored wishing that there would be somebody who could match up to her in competition. Hating nothing more than not doing anything she went outside with the hope of
finding a rival.

Her destination was random, she just wanted to look around. Yomas were never a problem for her village since it was located deep inside mountain ranges that surrounded the whole area. However, this day was special for Adelaide was about to encounter her first yoma. Taking a stroll in the forest just east of her village she looked for a wild animal to slaughter for lunch. A boar, bear a three legged panda, it didn’t matter as long as it would give her a good fight
because she loved challenges. She only brought a short sword with her but usually she just uses her legs and fists to subdue her target.

After what seemed like hours her eyes fell on a bear which had the same intentions as she did. She hid in the cover of few bushes timing her attack while the bear had no idea of what was coming. Adrenalin was kicking in and Adelaide giggled and twitched in the intense excitement of
fighting a bear. She had her sword sheathed, she didn’t have plans on using it immediately instead she wanted to feel the bear’s strength with her body. Timing every second, taking every ounce of her strength she leaped on the back of the bear and drew first blood.

Before her fight with the bear lengthened an unexpected tempest hit the two. Adelaide, being athletic, managed to tumble her way to safety while the poor bear dropped into many pieces. Adelaide was shocked yet awed at the sight of the decapitated bear. What could be so fierce and strong that she was swept aside so easily and killed a bear in a split second. Her eyes looked for her culprit as her head waved in wonder. She struggled to her feet wavering still in search for her opponent. She felt a chill from her back and she immediately spun.

The enemies fist clashed with her stomach and she grunted in pain dropping on her knees. She peaked with her right eye to see what she was up against. It was a yoma, but she didn’t know that. The yoma had usual yoma features, claws, fangs and human shaped body. Its muscles were 10 times bigger than hers with the speed that was 10x of hers. She unsheathed her short sword with her right hand then lunged at the yoma with her sword thrust upwards. The yoma didn’t move a muscle, Adelaide’s sword met with the yoma’s tough skin and didn’t leave a scratch. The steel sword broke like porcelain when the yoma attacked and Adelaide flew 6 meters from where she
stood. Before the yoma could finish her off somebody with similar speed went between them.

She was a girl in blue cloak with a huge sword that met with the yoma’s claws. Adelaide was amazed looking at how calm the girl was. Looking at the girl from her position, sitting down on the ground with her back leaning on a tree that was crushed by the impact of her body, the girl wasn’t very muscular compared to her or the creature. The yoma hesitated at first but lunged another attack slashing randomly at the girl. The girl feinted the attacks easily and avoided the final blow by dashing to its back almost like vanishing.

Adelaide pulled herself to her feet, her eyes squinting and her right arm grasping her left waist in pain as some of her ribs may have been broken. She managed to get her short sword though. She tried to attack at the two but her body failed her, she couldn’t believe it herself, for the first time in her life her body hesitated to fight.

The girl slashed the yoma vertically upwards without getting her cloak stained by the monster’s blood. Then she sheathed her sword on the sheath hanging on her back. Out of nowhere a slash neared her but she managed to stop it by pressing with two fingers, her point and middle
finger on her right hand. The attack came from Adelaide who was already furious. The girl smiled then kicked her away sending her flying again.

“W-who are you!?” Adelaide asked weakly as she regained a little of her composure, going up on one knee from the ground. “Y-you’re strong,” Adelaide faked a smile.

“Is that how you thank your saviour?” The girl smiled back. “Well I don’t have any business to tell you so forget it.”

“Clare it’s time to go!” Another girl came, also in blue cloak. “W-who is she?” The new comer immediately noticed Adelaide.

“Oh sorry Miria,” Clare apologized unsincerely. “Just some town girl attacked by a yoma, I thought I could help.”

“That would explain the dead yoma body,” Miria laughed.

“Yeah I guess it would.” Clare replied in a sarcastic manner.

“Just some town girl? I’m the champion fighter in our village damn it!” Adelaide roared.

“Ooh, that’s some attitude,” Miria sighed. “We’re claymores, yu don’t stand a chance so please don’t bear your fangs at us.” Miria requested. Adelaide refused, her sword still pointed at Claire.

“If you want to at the minimum least scratch my sword then become a claymore.” Clare gave her a cold icy stare that made her twitch.

“Clare you know that’s not right,” Miria stopped Claire from saying anything more.

“Sorry I got carried away. Let’s go then the others are waiting.” Clare led Miria out of the place. Miria gave Adelaide a compassionate look before going.

Adeliade dropped her short sword in defeat. She couldn’t believe that such people existed. She decided for herself that she would come to their ranks and maybe fight them in the future.
