Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

We are currently aware there are some issues occuring with galleries causing some deviant galleries to not appear. Devious Technology has been notified and we hope to have this issue cleared up soon.

So I just have to wait to be able to see my own gallery displayed.

And... I just realized how I was writing in the Header of the Journal instead of doing it in the 'Journal Entry' part... LOL after a year of being in DA.

they are new... some are having them and it seems most have it fixed already. I am pretty much infront of the computer while using DA 24/7 so yeah... I notice a lot of stuff in DA

Yeah I got tired of the *... the ~ looks way better... actually ! looks better than everythign else, but no thanks, I don't want a ban just to look cool. The = looks better than the * so I choose to be tester.
